In a city surrounded by crime, what happens when the ones that are supposed to protect you are the ones trying to bring you down? A topic of passion for the fire project is the exchange of the type of intimidation amongst the officer and the people, police brutality. A big problem in current times all around the U.S, the abuse of power amongst the Police Department.
In my community, in many cases, the ones that are supposed to serve and protect us are the one that when offended won’t mind taking you to an alley and beating you down. My friends and I have all experienced many situations in which police abuse their power by taking you to the side of a house, taking you to an alley, or simply just handcuffing you and beating you with plain fist for something as dumb as spitting in their presence. But the issues extends to beyond our community, its a problem now all around the U.S..
Recently a bill was passed making it a felony to record a conversation between two people including officers, with out both people’s consent; Something should be done about this. Why leave it up to a person that has done something wrong to say whether or not to record them, how prove something was done when you got no prove?
Sometimes when the powerless are tired of being oppressed a change must be made, a change for the better; for the community, the nation, and the rest of the world.
